Produced with natural materials - beautiful and made to last.
The area rugs that we offer are made with materials that are natural, biodegradable and
renewable. Some of the materials that we use include organic cotton and hemp as well as
wool. Our carpets are not treated with any chemical agents such as fire retardants,
stain protectors, bonding compounds, moth-proofing materials or dyes. The dyes used
for our rugs are water-based, made from vegetables, plant extracts or other natural
pigments.
The renewable materials that we use have many naturally occurring qualities that
make them durable and easy to maintain. The primary backing for our carpets is made
of hemp fibers that are very strong and have a natural resistance to mold and mildew.
Wool yarns are locked into place with a naturally occurring adhesive that comes from
the rubber tree.
We offer many wonderful alternatives to traditional synthetic, polypropylene rugs and
carpets that can produce toxins and other compounds that can pollute your indoor air
quality. This pollution occurs through a process called off-gassing when harmful
materials or treatments used to make synthetic rugs, emit toxic fumes and VOCs into
your indoor environment. While these gasses are harmful to everyone, they can be
especially menacing to people with Samantha or multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS).
The natural, durable substitutes that we provide will last much longer than synthetically
produced carpets that may end up in landfill after only a few short years.
We encourage you to browse our selection and learn more about our wonderful alternatives to s
ynthetic rugs. Whether you need an area rug or wall-to-wall carpeting, you can feel good that
your rugs were made from 100% natural and renewable resources that are totally biodegradable.
